PSA24 in Glasgow

Knut Solvig · April 2, 2024

The Political Studies Association hosted their annual conference last week in Glasgow, Scotland. It is a conference packed with panels where researchers may present their research in specialist groups.

I quickly noticed that I was in a sea of Professors and PhD students, and it seemed like I was the only Master student there. Who would’ve guessed that most people are sane enough to not write a research paper during their masters?

The Research

I am currently writing a research paper together with T. Murat Yilidirm and got the honor of presenting our paper during the Political Studies Association 2024 in Glasgow last week! It was great meeting other researchers and discussing ideas.

Our research paper is on the urban-rural divide in the US looking at policy priorities over a time span from 1960 to 2020. It is an exicting project, which was also reflected by the audience during my presentation.

Glasgow

This trip was my first trip to Glasgow and the UK in general. I have to say, it was quite a beautiful city! Though I did not have a lot of time to wander around because of the interesting panel discussions happening from morning to evening, I saw enough to say that Glasgow is a city filled to the brim with history. I would definently go there again! Till next time, Scotland!
